Mark Charleston
DIRECTOR AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
NDAT, LBP design 2Prior to founding Mako Architecture in 2021, Mark worked for various multidisciplinary architects and served as a project manager for two years. His passion lies in bespoke residential homes, ensuring that each project is delivered to a high standard.
Mark brings a practical approach and build-ability vision to every project to ensure budgets and expectations are met.
When he’s not at work you’ll find him fishing, boating, staying active and enjoying the outdoors.

Eric Tell
COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
MArch (Prof)Eric has joined Mako Architecture, bringing a wealth of experience from working at a top commercial architecture firm for the last 14 years, alongside prominent retail, commercial, and industrial clients and developers. With a strong focus on design and construction, Eric offers expert insight across all aspects of the process, from bulk and location studies, front-end design, to lease outline drawings and site observation.
As a Director at Mako, his primary responsibility lies in the design and delivery of commercial, retail, and industrial projects, ensuring each one meets the highest standards of functionality, creativity, and client satisfaction. Eric takes a collaborative approach, working closely with clients to help realise their commercial goals while delivering quality outcomes for their assets.
Outside of work, Eric enjoys fishing, working on cars and other projects in the garage, and spending quality time with his family

Taylor Greer
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
MIABefore Taylor started at Mako Architecture, she worked for a few architectural firms in Wellington specialising in residential alterations, renovations and extensions of various complexities. During this time she studied towards her master’s degree in Interior Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington, graduating in 2022.
Throughout her studies and work experience she has developed a strong interest for the expressive qualities of raw materials, light and form, and various architectural styles. She’s passionate about the design process and the satisfaction that comes from successfully completing projects as part of a design team or independently.
Outside of architecture, Taylor loves to talk about music, surf and play the drums & bass!

Jiyae Park
SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
MArch (Prof)
Jiyae joined Mako architecture in 2023 with a broad range of experience in residential architecture. Her passion has always been in helping clients achieve their dream home, creating bespoke homes that balances design and function.On her off time, she'll be hanging out with her dog and working on her own home renovations.

Varun Narandas
SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
BASVarun joined the Mako team in early 2025 bringing with him his wide experience in high end residential, medium density housing and commercial projects. He has great passion for turning people's visions into reality and this is what drives him to always strive for high quality work and pays attention to fine details.
Outside of work he likes being active, hanging out with his two and four legged whanau and when time allows, hitting the open road and spending time in the great outdoors.
